HardieBoard® Siding is the most popular brand of siding in America and can be found on over 4 million homes.  The product is made by James Hardie Building Products, Inc. located in Australia with branch offices and manufacturing in the United States.  Hardie Board Siding is an amazing product with many benefits such as a 30 year warranty unlike other types siding.  All HardiePlank® siding comes in a variety of looks and textures, all of which are engineered for durability in many different climates.
  • Who makes Hardie Board products?
    A company called James Hardie Building Products, Inc. Founded in the mid 1980s, James Hardie pioneered the development of fiber-cement technology, and began designing and manufacturing a wide range of fiber-cement building products that made use of the benefits that came from the product's durability, versatility and strength.  back to top


  • What is Hardie Board?
    Hardie Board consists mostly of concrete and a small amount of fibrous materials. It is a fibrous concrete board that termites don't eat. This is good news for warmer climates where termites stay active most of the year. Hardie Board is also impervious to moisture. You can place it in a bucket of water and leave it for as long as you like and it will not become saturated. It takes paint very well and comes pre-primed. It comes in many designs and patterns that will compliment any style home.  back to top


  • Why should I use Hardie Board and not Vinyl Siding or Wood?
    The answer is simple - Hardie Board is a better product all around. Traditional siding products may be seem cheaper BUT over time it does not stand up to the outside weather conditions compared with Hardie Board and thus you will have to replace the old siding a second time.  back to top

    Our "Preferred Remodeler" status is basically a "badge of honor" for successfully completing extensive training and exceeding the standards of quality control for installing James Hardie Building Products - such as: HardiePlank, HardieShingle, HardiePanel, HardieTrim, HardieSoffit, Artisan Siding, and Hardie Colorplus Technology. According to James Hardie Building Products, Inc. - they recommend only the best contractors and remodelers in the State of Florida for their products to ensure correct installation and safety.   • What are the requirements to be a James Hardie Preferred Remodeler or Contractor?
    - Each member must comply with James Hardie Installation Professional Protocols. - Each member must have a professional sales approach. - Each member must be in business a minimum of 4 years as the same company with the same name. - Each member must have an A+ rating record with customers or other accredited rating agency. - Each member must have a good credit rating. - Each member must be professionally licensed in their state. - Each member must be bonded. - Each member must have Liability Insurance $1,000,000 per occurrence. - Each member must have state required Workman's Compensation Insurance. - Each member must complete a satisfactory background check from 10 previous customers.  back to top

  • Are you licensed and insured?
    Yes. Robert Hershberger Construction is a licensed Certified Residential Contractor (CRC035243 - Florida). We carry Liability and Workman's Compensation insurance for ALL our staff and crew.  back to top


  • How much will it cost to do a project?
    Every project is different - using various materials and requiring a certain amount of labor. We will gladly give you a free estimate which will include materials and labor to help you achieve your home improvement goals and stay within your budget.  back to top


  • Is your work guaranteed and if so, for how long?
    Our labor is guaranteed for 12 months from the completion of a project. We stand behind all product and material guarantees as per each manufacturer. Some sample warranties include: Hardie Board = 35 years; Sherwin Williams Paint = 5, 10, 15 years; and many more.  back to top


  • Do you provide references and can we see examples of your work?
    Yes. We are more than happy to supply references. Site visits can be arranged by prior appointment and subject to previous customer approval.  back to top


  • How do you know the people you employ are reliable?
    Each current workman goes through our rigorous interviewing process. Of the many jobs applications we receive, we only offer contracts to those craftsman who are suitably skilled in their particular area of expertise.   • I am worried that my home and yard will be a mess when the project is completed?

    We offer several options to pay for a project. These include: Cash, Check, Credit Card (Visa and MasterCard), or PayPal (via our website). Payments vary - BUT usually we require the following: 30% Deposit - 30% During the Project - 30% Project Completion.  back to top
